1.-How to get the Trek permit for the Inca trail?

We will get your Inca trail trek permit as soon as possible after having received your trek deposit. The trek permit includes details of your name and passport number and your departure date. The government authorities will not allow us to change these details after we have bought the permit. If we have a student trek permit for you then you must take your valid ISIC card on the trek. if you renew your passport AFTER we have purchased the permit then you ensure that you also bring your old passport with you on the trek. If you are unable to meet with these requirements you will not be allowed to start the trek and we will consider your trek booking to be a “cancellation of the trek by the client” (see trek terms and condition on our website) and you will not receive a refund. If you lose your passport or your student card, then you won’t be able to start the trek and you won’t receive a refund. Only in certain circumstances, given enough time, we can make a special application to the government authorities to update your trek permit. Copies of your old documents and any relevant police reports showing the loss may be required. WHY DO I NEED TO SEND A DEPOSIT?

We use your deposit (non-refundable) to pay the basic fees to make your reservation official. These fees include entry tickets to reserve space, porters (non-refundable by national law), and a government tax of 18%.
In regards to hotel reservations, we are required to pay penalties for cancellation depending on the date.
The deposit is also used to assure availability and book personnel for all tours and treks, such as chefs, porters, and even reserve horses.

HOW TO WORK THE INKA TRAIL PERMIT?

the permit for the Inca Trail works. Every year at the beginning of October 2022, the reservations for the following year 2023 are opened, The Peruvian government authorizes us to make the booking for the next season. A few months might well out fast, like may, June, and July, so it is essential to get manual confirmation that the tours operator has secured the permits

2.- How to Payment of Trek Balance in Cusco

The trek has to be paid for in full at least 7: 30pm one or two days to departure. For example, if you trek departures on Friday then we must come to your hotel before 8:00pm on Monday evening. When you pay for the trek we will give you a trek voucher includes information about the following: your name, type of service, trek departure date, whether you are a student, price paid, name of your hotel in Cusco, hotel pick-up time whether you have asked for vegetarian meals or an additional staff, whether you are hiring items such as sleeping bags, walking poles and which date you are returning to Cusco and in what type of train service. Please check that the information on your trek voucher is correct and remember to take it with you on the trek. Please pay the trek balance in cash US dollars (preferred) or local currency. You can withdraw cash from one of several ATM machines along Avenida Sol (either in US dollars or local Peruvian soles). We don’t accept cards, bank checks, traveler’s or payment of the balance by PayPal. Please note that in Peru banks exchange offices (Casa de Cambio’s) are very fussy about the condition of US dollar bills. They will not accept or change bills that are damaged in any way. Even bills with the smallest cuts or rips are not accepted. When you came to Peru please ensure that your dollar bills are in excellent condition. Due to the difficulty of changing damaged US dollar bills Peruclassictrek.com cannot accept damaged bills as payment in the hotel.

ARE THE DEPARTURE DATES GUARANTEED? ¿IS THERE A MINIMUM FOR GROUP BOOKING?

The only events that may jeopardize your travel dates are natural disasters or other circumstances that may put your safety at risk. Otherwise, our departures are 100% guaranteed as long as there is a minimum of 2 people.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS TO VISIT PERU?

Please consult with your physician or local travel clinic regarding your visit to South America. Vaccinations for tetanus, diphtheria, and poliomyelitis. If you are visiting the Amazon, a yellow fever vaccination is recommended. Be aware of illnesses such as malaria and dengue, which are best prevented by using repellent. Illnesses are more common in the Amazon than in the Andes mountains.

WHERE ARE YOU STORING YOUR LUGGAGE?

Any equipment that you are not going to need on the trek can be stored safely in your hotel. Nearly every hotel will provide this service and very few actually charge for it provided you return to the same hotel after the trek. Do not leave items of value with your bags, put them in the safe and receipt. (in the very unlikely case of theft many insurance companies require that you have a copy of the receipt itemizing all the items). Bets put items such as cards inside a sealed, signed envelope for extra peace of mind. Don’t for forget to bring your passport on the Inca trail.
When you arrive at Machupicchu on the 4th day of the trek you will have to store any large backpacks at the main entrance. You can only enter Mchupicchu with small daypack. You can store able to help you arrange this

ABOUT HEALTH:

you can rent the sleeping bag or hiking poles from the office, our sleeping bag are suitable to temperature as low -10°cthe weight is 2.5kg we do not need that you leave any deposit for the sleeping bag and hiking poles. However, on the final morning of the trek the cook is responsible for taking the sleeping bags off you and returning them to the office. About the hiking pole the guide returning to the office

IS IT NECESSARY TO TAKE AN EXTRA MONEY FOR THE TREKS?

The Inca trail and Machu Picchu ruins are all located within the boundaries of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Special laws and regulations apply within this sanctuary with the aim of protecting the environment. Regulations that apply to the trekkers are listed below.

1.-camp in only designated campsite.
2.-do not throw garbage along the trail. Take your garbage with you and deposit it in official basquet at the campsite.
3.-don’t pick wild flowers or hunt animals and birds.
4.-campfires are not allowed anywhere in the sanctuary. The tour companies now have to cook with the gas.
5.-smoking on the trail is banned apart from designated locations at the campsite. This ban follows several large fires caused by carelessly discarded cigarette butts.
6.-Donot take any Inca stone away with you as souvenirs.

WHERE DO WE HAVE TO MEET TO START THE INCA TRAIL, LARES TREK AND QUARRY TREK, ETC?

Started any trekking and tours with Peruclassictrek, we will pick you up from your hotel on the morning of the trek departure. The pick time it will be written on your treks and tours voucher. Ensure that the correct name of the hotel is written on the voucher (we cannot pick you up if we cannot find you!). if you change hotel please return to the office to update your trek voucher (best option) call the office immediately. PLEASE YOU MUST WAIT IN SIDE THE HOTEL IN THE WAITEEN ROOM. Our guide came to the hotel and look for you. Their ask in the reception for you. Ensure that all your bag is packed and you’re ready to leave with the guide immediately. Don not wait until the morning to take your passport out of the hotel safe or put valuables into safe keeping as the person responsible for opening the safe may not be available early in the morning. Make all these arrangements the night before.do not worry if the guide is a little late. We may have been delayed picking up other clients before you, we won’t leave you behind.

You will take mineral water battled from Cusco in canteen or reusable bottle because we are ecocultural company, we protect our environment and cultural. We will provide you with water from the first lunch to the last breakfast. Our chef will boil the water and filter it, then cool it so that you can fill your canteen. At breakfast, lunch and dinner time.

WHAT ABOUT TOILET FACILITIES ON THE TREKS?

About the facilities along the Inca trail, all the campsite that we use have toilet facilities with cold running water, some campsite facilities have improved. Another trek like Lares trek, quarry trek and Huchuy Qosqo. We provide toilet tent. Customer they have to take toilet paper and hand sanitizers.

SAFETY AND BE CAREFUL OF THEFT.


Thankfully, theft is quite uncommon on the trail provided that you take basic precautions. Do not take any valuables with you that you do not need for the trek. Leave jewelry and large sums of money in your hotel safe. Take plenty of plastic bags to wrap smelly socks, boots, underwear and wet clothes in. Do not them outside your tent at night or they may not be there in the morning. Carry your valuables in a money belt or neck pouch and keep items such as cameras, phones etc. with you at all times specially at meal times. The campsite is share with the other trekking group. Specially at last campsite of Winay wayna is very crowded, where use as communal campsite people are walking during all night going to the toilet. You must keep with you.

YOU MUST BE CAREFULY WITH STEEP DROPS.

The Inca trail is a mountainous trek. Although there are no parts where you have to resort to climbing on all fours there are few sections that hug the mountainside with steep drops at the side of the trail. There are no handrail or fences so you must exercise caution, if overtaking fellow trekkers in these sections let them know that you are passing especially on the narrow section, if you are the slow one of then stop regularly to let others pass. You must be patient and if you have children with you make sure that are at your side at all times. 

IT IS NECESSARY WALKING POLES ON THE INCA TRAIL?

Walking poles are always helpful to trekkers, but particularly on this trek. The Inca Trail footpath is filled with paved stone with stairs that you will walk up and down. They were all hand carved and laid by the Incas, 490 years ago. They vary in height and are not all straight. Using walking sticks can help take the pressure off your knees while doing this portion of the trail. Plus, they will help you get up the mountain as well. All our walking sticks are expandable black diamond poles that can be collapsed smaller and tied to your bag when you are not using them.
Metal tips on your hiking poles are not allowed on the Inca Trail. For those who are bringing their own walking poles, make sure you have rubber tips, Rubber tips can be purchased in Cusco if you forget to change out your metal tips, before you arrive in Cusco. Also – note that airlines will not let you fly with walking sticks in your carryon luggage, you must check them in your bags. Check and be sure you can even bring them at all. by Peru classic trek, so you don’t actually have to hassle with bringing them on flights if you don’t want to.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HIKE ON THE INKA TRAIL AND OTHER TREKS?

All the customer always ask, the Inca trail is one the famous trek in the south America, the best time to enjoy the view and trek is on the dry season start from April to October but any times or any season is amazing hike on the Inca trail with rain, sun ,cold specially sometimes clouds made something magical. You must have the proper equipment and always be prepared for all types of weather. Inca Trail is located in the cloud forest, and this is famous for having the most unstable weather in Peru and perhaps the world.
The best months to hike and visit Machu Picchu are April to November.
The Driest months on the Inca Trail are May, June, July, and August. However, these are the busiest day in Machu Picchu.
The rainy season starts in November and until March; sometime, it is possible to have whole weeks with rain or without rain. The weather is unpredictable.

Which month is closed Inca Trail?
The Classic Inca Trail is closed every year one month is from February to March for maintenance the trail and facilities. It is also closed on occasion due to bad weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. If you are planning to trek the Classic Inca Trail, be sure to check the information before you go.

How many days in advance should I arrive to start the Inca Trail?
You should arrive to Cusco at least two days before you start your Inca Trail trek. This will be give you time to acclimatize in the high altitude. and get settled in with peace of mind before embarking on your trek. Cusco is a beautiful city with plenty of things to see and do, walking on the street, visiting market or doing some tours. While you are waiting to start your trek, if you have any last-minute gear or supplies that you need to pick up, you’ll have time to do that before heading out.
