1st.- CUSCO –PUMAHUANCA-PUYOC.
Our first day of the trek starts pick up from your hotel at 5: 30am.for our famous Lares Trek to Machu Picchu.it will be 1 ½ hours to drive to the starting point the small village of Pumahuanca. we will pack the horse and start to walk northward. The trail climbs gently up one of the side valleys covering about 14km in total as we make our way towards the small town of Puyoc.on the way up we will visit the small Inca site of Pumamarca and appreciate the native plants, flowers and birds that inhabit this region specially by the old polylepis forest. Our campsite for the night is puyoc (4100m/13451ft), it is quite barren at this altitude.
2nd. -PUYOC –CUNCANI.
Wake up bright and early with a hot drink. Today is the most spectacular day of the trek and quite easier going than yesterday. Breakfast will be served once you have finished packing your gear. Then we will organize your snack and fill our water bottles, we will continue with our expedition to Machupicchu.it will be 2.1/2 hours climb to get to the summit of Sicllaccasa mountain it is highs pass(4800m/15748ft) providing scenic views of lagoons and the snowcapped chicon mountain. Celebrate after reaching hike downhill by the rock trail to the isolated village of cuncani. where is our campsite for the night? There will meet with local families that graze their alpacas, llamas and sheep.it is also possible to see gray Brocket deer, Viscachas, Andean Geese.
3ht. -CUNCANI –LARES –MACHUPICCHU.
Today is family days once we are enjoying our hot drinks, your guide taken to the family house. The family are incredibly and welcoming and are just as eager to learn about you as you are of them – hopefully by now you’ll have mastered a few phrases and be able to ask a few questions and you will back since at the Inca time. After the visit you will have the opportunity to give any gifts you have brought for the local family and also to buy some of the locally made alpaca products.
Leaving Cuncani is just walking a short distance (6km) until we reach hot springs of Lares. Along the way we’ll pass through several small communities and see the people growing a variety of foods such as Quinua and Tarwi, we’ll also probably spot flocks of Andean Parrots flying overhead. After a relaxing dip in the hot springs we’ll be picked up by our bus and driven back to the sacred Valley from where we’ll be catch our train to Machupicchu.
4th. -MACHUPICCHU-CUSCO.
Waking up early we’ll take the first buss back up to Machu Picchu to see Rise and shine the best time to see the lost City of the Incas is in the early morning light. Follow the local guide to learn about its history at a leisurely pace. Gain local insight into the inti Machay cave”, Inti Watana, the Temple of the condor, and the room of the tree windows. Take time to sit and feel the energy of this 15th –century site, now both a UNESCO world Heritage site and voted one of the new seven Wonders of the World. If you have booked a permit to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain there are two time one is (7am to 8am) (,10am to 11am) after that you will need catch your buss back down to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch and train to Ollantaytambo. from where Peru Trek Adventure team pick you up and you will go back to Cusco in the private van they will drop you off at your hotel.
